Our ‘Philanthropy conversation series’ brings together individuals who are committed to growing philanthropy in Australia, to discuss innovative models of giving, the latest trends in philanthropy and how to give effectively and with impact.
The inaugural event was held in Melbourne on 31 May 2016, with a dinner hosted by our General Manager Gary Riordan in partnership with Social Venture Partners (SVP), a leading philanthropic organisation.
Guest speakers Ruth Jones, recent CEO of Social Venture Partners (SVP) Global Network and Lachlan Carter, CEO of 100 Story Building presented to an intimate gathering of wealth advisers, philanthropists, venture capitalists and representatives from the not-for-profit (NFP) sector on SVP’s collective giving model and how it is partners with Australia’s NFP sector.
We were inspired to learn how SVP developed a donor community and its innovative approach to ‘investing’ in the NFP sector. SVP utilise a public ancillary fund (PuAFs), a charitable trust structure that enables the public to raise funds and build a corpus over time. At AET, we are passionate about PuAFs and committed to their future growth. Our role is to take over the time-consuming compliance, administration and investment management of managing PuAFs.
